ROAD PLAN INTENDS TO ELIMINATE CONFUSION.(CAPITAL REGION)

The state is planning to straighten out a traffic problem just north of the Route 9-Crescent bridge by straightening the alignment between Church Hill and Crescent-Vischer Ferry roads.

Currently the two thoroughfares meet at an offset angle, each requiring its own traffic light and creating a confusing situation for motorists.

``It's so confusing there. In January or February a gentleman came across, I think he wanted to turn up Crescent Road, and made a U-turn and got broadsided,'' Planning Board Chairman Richard Lee said.
