Whiskers Animal Benevolent League could use some paper towels, postage stamps, trash bags and pureed baby food.
``Of course, we can always use money,'' adds Carol Bessette, ``and a computer would be the ultimate gift.''
Bessette is a co-president of Whiskers, the organization that takes in stray, abandoned and abused animals, then feeds, houses and provides veterinary care for them until permanent homes can be found.
Like some other animal-welfare organizations, Whiskers relies on donations and volunteers to care for the animals hence the call for donations during this season we associate with giving.
